Real estate projects should include best practices in resilient design, addressing climate and environmental risks such as sea-level rise, increased rainfall, drought, heat, or earthquakes. For most featured projects, these investments in resilience have also led to other benefits, such as operational efficiencies, enhanced public green spaces, reduced insurance premiums, and more.
The process for completing a brief involves compiling data and background information about the project, as well as interviews with the project’s developer, designer, and potentially others, such as a property manager or key tenant. ULI provides research and writing assistance, as long as background information and interviews are available.
